The Coconut Boats, Hoi An 🥥 I would definitely The Coconut Boats, Hoi An 🥥

I would definitely recommend doing this if you are in Hoi An! It is super cheap and so much fun 🤝

Here are some things you should know before you go:

DO YOU HAVE TO BOOK? 📞

- So many companies run these cocunut boats all in the same area, so it can be really overwhelming when you get there and everyone is yelling at you to go with there company! So, if you can, pre-book before you go‼️

WHO TO BOOK WITH? ✅

- Essentially all the companies offer the exact same thing but we booked with Long Phu Eco Tour 👏🏼 You can find them on Google or if you want their phone number you can dm me!

DO YOU HAVE TO BOOK FAR IN ADVANCE? ⏰

- No, we decided to do this very last minute! I contacted them at 3pm and they said to come out as soon as we could 😌

HOW MUCH? 💰

- 200000 dong for two people (€7.80) and extra for a tip for your guide 💸
- If you don’t pre-book they can offer some ridiculous prices, so be sure to bargain with them!
- If you want to do the spinning (as shown in the reel above) it costs extra (100000 dong) and you pay the man that spins you rather than the company you book with 🧐 (So don’t be fooled that it’s included in the price)

HOW LONG IS IT? ⏳

- 40 minutes 🚣‍♀️

WHERE IS IT LOCATED?📍

- Tran Nhan Tong (about a 15 minute drive from Old Town) 🚘

OTHER INFO:

- You get to try crab fishing 🎣
- There is such a good atmosphere around!
- Hats and umbrellas are included to keep the heat directly off you 🌞
- You will hear Gangnam Style by PSY on repeat 🤯

Ha Giang Loop: Tips ✔️ 10 things I wish I kne Ha Giang Loop: Tips ✔️

10 things I wish I knew before I went:

1. You get so much value for your money! Anything over €100 is considered expensive in SEA but you get so much for what you pay 😅
2. Bring enough cash! There are no ATM’s around and no where takes card 💵
3. It can get cold so bring a hoodie 🥶
4. If you are going through monsoon season (June-October) I would bring a rain jacket 🌧️
5. You will have to drink lots of Happy Water, which is a homemade alcohol and it’s disgusting 🤢
6. Be warned that after 3 days we were exhausted and super glad we didn’t do the 4 day tour! So just be prepared that although you are just riding a motorbike all day, it is super tiring 😴
7. Pack your stuff in a small pack back and you leave your big bag at the hostel you book with 🎒
8. Be prepared to meet the most amazing people and have the laughs of your life 💘
9. If you are in a pair you can drive on the back of your partners bike! I didn’t know this was an option when we booked ✔️
10. Your bum is reallyyyy going to hurt by day 3 🤭

🫶 THE HA GIANG LOOP 🫶 This is simply the be 🫶 THE HA GIANG LOOP 🫶

This is simply the best thing I have ever done! The views, the people, the laughs were all unmatched 🥹

Here is all you need to know about booking your trip !

WHO DID YOU BOOK WITH? 🛵

- Central Backpackers Hanoi

WHAT TOUR DID YOU DO? 🗓️

- 3 days, 2 nights

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? 💸

- Driving yourself: €140
- Easy Rider (meaning a pro drives the bike and you sit on the back): €170

WHAT IS INCLUDED? 🤔

- Accommodation 🛌
- 3 meals a day 🍽️
- Drinking water 🧊
- Semi-Automatic Bike/Easy Rider 🏍️
- Transfer to and from Ha Giang 🚌
- Happy Water 🤢

HOW HARD IS IT TO DRIVE YOURSELF? 🫣

- I would recommend having experience driving a semi-automatic bike as the roads are pretty bad ⚠️
- You don’t need a license to drive yourself (they don’t ask for one) 🥲

WHAT TO PACK? 🧢

(For reference we went in April)

- Sports shorts/loose shorts 🩳
- A hoodie 👚
- Vest tops 🦺
- Swimwear 👙
- A towel 🧖‍♀️
- Suncream 🌞
- Runners 👟
- Sunglasses 🕶️
- 2 evening outfits 👒
- Raincoat (if you are going during monsoon season)🌂
- Bring changes of clothes for everyday as you can get dusty while driving 🛀
- Shampoo and body wash 🫧
- Mosquito Spray 🦟
- Snacks 🍫
- Powerbank 🔋

WHAT YOU DO NOT NEED? 👜

- Anything fancy (everything is super casual) 😮‍💨
- Multiple Shoes 🩴
- Make up 💄
- Hairdryer/Hair Styler 🎀

IS IT SAFE? ✅

- If you are driving yourself you have to be really cautious because there are bad roads and really huge drops 🤞🏼
- But if you get an easy rider you feel super safe! They drive the loop everyday and are super experienced 🫡 They know the roads inside out, so you feel super confident in them!

I will be following up this post with more info on the Loop 💘

Train Street, Hanoi 🛤 Although I am glad I see Train Street, Hanoi 🛤

Although I am glad I seen it, Train Street is such a tourist trap! Super busy, not the friendliest staff and a little underwhelming 🥺 That is just my personal take on it, however it still is really cool to see as I will probably never be that close to a moving train again 🤩

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO ⬇️
1. You can’t enter the street without a worker from one of the coffee shops leading you to a seat. This basically means you enter the street with one of the workers and they will lead you to one of the coffee shops/bars/restaurants on the street 🫡
2. You don’t get much choice where you get to sit as you have no idea where this worker is taking you before entering the street 🤷🏼‍♀️
3. There is no fee but you have to buy a drink or food of some sort to stay on the street 💸
4. It is super crowded! Everyone has to stay in their seat when the train passes but you can freely take pictures on the street up until this point 📷
5. You can find the train schedule online (or below ⬇️) but the train we seen was 40 minutes later than the time stated on the schedule ⏳
6. You are not allowed on the train tracks for pictures, they will yell at you (speaking from experience) 🤣
7. You don’t have to come too early to get a seat. The train we wanted to see was scheduled for 11.20am but didn’t come until 12pm. We went at 11am to get a good seat but we were waiting ages and most of the seats were empty 👈🏻
8. Make sure to ask which way the train is coming because once it’s on its way everything happens so fast, so you want to make sure you’re ready with your camera 🎥

THE TRAIN SCHEDULE ⏰
- Monday to Friday: 7pm, 7.45pm, 8.30pm and 10pm.
- Saturday and Sunday: 6am, 9am, 11.20am, 3.20pm, 5.30pm, 6pm, 7pm, 7.45pm, 8.30pm, 9pm, 11pm.

Have you ever been to the Train Street in Hanoi? If so, what did you think of it? 🤔
