Valencia: 20 of the Best Places to Eat

It is actually hard to find a place that doesn’t sell good food in Valencia. Both me and my boyfriend said that this city has some of the best food we have ever tasted.

So, if you are planning a trip to Valencia, I would definitely recommend looking into some restaurants before you jet off, because some of the best spots require you to book a week or two in advance.

Even though you definitely will not be stuck for places to eat in Valencia, I want to share my top picks for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and of course coffee!

So, let’s get into it…

Breakfast/Brunch

Breakfast/Brunch is one of my favourite meals of the day and here in Valencia you nearly have too many options on where to go.

Dulce de Leche

Starting off strong, this place is not to be missed when in Valencia. Whether you are going for breakfast/brunch or just coffee, it is the cutest and most gorgeous cafe. Make sure to get a pastry here, you will know what I mean when you see the selection they have!

Location: There are 3 Duche de Leche’s in Valencia.

  • Carrer de Sant Vicent Mártir, 52
  • Carrer del Pintor Gisbert, 2 (*Personal Favourite*)
  • Carrer de Jesús, 71

Opening Times: 8am-9pm

Federal Cafe

This is such a nice spot to grab some brunch while in the city centre. We got brunch here one day and it was super yummy! This is also a great place if you want to get some work done, as it is spacious and there are lots of plug outputs.

Location: Carrer de l’Ambaixador Vich, 15

Price: Moderate

Opening Times: 9am-8pm

Brunch Corner

Another cute little spot that I think is best for breakfast/lunch, as it can be a little busy to sit and just have a coffee. The food in here is super good, they specialise in brunch but also have a more savoury lunch menu too.

  • Plaza de Sant Bult, 3
  • Calle Conde de Almodóvar, 1

Café ArtySana

This is a vegan cafe that is so authentic and cool! The food here is super yummy and it is really affordable too. You can get a set menu here where you pick 4 items from the menu for a set price of €13. This includes coffee or tea too. I definitely would recommend stopping by here if you are looking for a vibey cafe with great food.

Bastard Coffee

This is such a great spot if you want to grab some breakfast or brunch but also want to get some work done. It is a super open space, with a really cool minimalistic design. The food and coffee here are very nice and their pastries are to die for.

Boa Beach

Located down by Malvarrosa Beach, this little gem is a really cool and an aesthetically pleasing place to get some breakfast or lunch. Opening Times: 9am-11.30pm

Coffee

All the places listed above are also great spots to get a coffee, but below I will list a few coffee shops that I would also recommend alongside the ones above.

Las Mas Bonita

This is such a cute little cafe that I would recommend going to for a coffee and a pastry. They also do breakfast here but I have not had it so I can’t comment whether it is good or not. This place has a boujee, yet cute feel to it and is the perfect place to spot for a break while exploring the city.

Location: There are 3 La Mas Bonitas in Valencia.

  • Passeig Marítim de la Patacona 11
  • Carrer de Cadiz, 61
  • Carrer del Comte de Salvatierra, 19

Café les Hores

Cafe les Hores

For the decor alone you should definitely stop by this place for a coffee. Although the coffee itself wasn’t the best in the world, this cafe is decorated with a vintage design and is a super cool place to get pictures if that’s what you’re looking for. You can also get alcohol in here, so this might be a perfect intimate spot for a drink in the evening time.

Location: Carrer del Comte d’Almodóvar, 1

Price: Moderate

Opening Times: 10am-1.30am

The Coffee

This is a little coffee stand located in the city centre. It has no seats or inside area so it is perfect for coffee on the go.

Lunch

Mercabanyal

If you are down by the beach and are looking for some street food this place is perfect. Mercabanyal is a food court that sells everything from burgers, to pizza, to asian cuisine. It is a super cool spot to have a chilled out meal and the food is really good too.

Savoury Acai House

Savoury Acai House

If you love Acai Bowls like I do, this place is super good! You can make your own Acai Bowl picking everything from the size, to toppings, to flavours. They also sell a range of other healthy meals like wraps and sandwiches, which are super convenient for on the go. Their menu features lots of vegan choices!

This burger joint does some of the best burgers I have ever tasted. If you’re in the mood for some BBQ then this is the place for you. The food is so good and the place itself is designed like a library which is super cute.

Dinner

Voltereta, Bienvenido a Bali

If you do anything while in Valencia, make sure you try at least one of the Voltereta Restaurants, there are three in total, all with different themes that I will be discussing separately. The first one we went to was Voltereta Bali and it was amazing. The theme of the restaurant makes it seem like you are in Bali, it is so aesthetically pleasing.

The menu is a tapas type menu, where you order different plates for the table to share. The food here is incredible and it is super affordable too for what you are getting.

You will 100% have to book this before going, so be sure to book about a week or two in advance.

Location: Gran Via del Marqués del Túria, 59

Price: Cheap-Moderate

Opening Times: 12.30pm-12.30am

Voltereta, Bienvenido a Kioto

Voltereta, Bienvenido a Kioto

This restaurant is Tokyo themed and it is split into two different sections. You can either be sat in the past or the future. The past is authentically Japanese themed and the future is a futuristic theme. We sat in the future themed area (which you can specify at booking) and it was super cool.

I didn’t enjoy the food here as much as I did in Voltereta Bali, but it was still super good. They also had a tapas style menu. Be sure to reserve a table at least a week in advance to avoid disappointment.

Location: Passeig de l’Albereda, 51

Price: Cheap-Moderate

Opening Times: 12.30pm-1am

Voltereta, Welcome to Manhattan

I think this was definitely our favourite of the Voltereta restaurants. The whole experience from start to finish was so amazing. The decor of a 1960’s Manhattan restaurant, the live music, the food, it was all just incredible. If you only have time to go to one of the Voltereta restaurants, I would recommend going to this one. But remember to book in advance!!

Location: Carrer d’Isabel la Católica, 11

Price: Moderate

Opening Times: 12.30pm-1am

Voltereta, Bienvenido a Kioto

San Tommaso

This Italian restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! The food is hands down some of the best Italian food I have ever tasted. The restaurant itself is so pretty and is styled in a way that an old Italian restaurant would look. We got both the pizza and pasta here and I could not recommend it more.

You will have to book this place two weeks in advance, but if you can sooner then definitely do. It is one of the busiest spots in Valencia, so be sure to try it out.

Location: Carrer de la Corretgeria, 37

Price: Moderate-Expensive

Opening Times: 12pm-12am

Destino 56

Located down by the beach, this place is a vibe for dinner. It is super cool here! It has all white furniture with neon lights, which creates a unique dining experience. I can’t narrow this restaurant down to having one type of cuisine, as it does a bit of everything.

Location: Passeig de Neptú, 56

Price: Moderate-Expensive

Opening Times: 12pm-1am

Bluebell

La Finestra

If you are looking for a chilled out dinner vibe, La Finestra is the place for you. This place is known for its personal pizzas and good vibes. If you are craving a pizza, a couple of drinks and don’t feel like dressing up, this is the perfect spot to go.

Location: Carrer dels Vivons, 16

Latte & Farina

Another super cute Italian restaurant in the old town of Valencia. This is a pretty and intimate place that serves some great Italian food. If you can’t get into San Tommaso but are still craving some Italian, I would definitely recommend heading here. You will not be disappointed.
